1.2V – 57V Regulated DC Power Supply Circuit

1.2V - 57V Regulated Power Supply Circuit

This is the circuit diagram of multi purpose regulated dc power supply which featured with short circuit protection. The electronic workshop is necessary to have a source capable of providing any voltage and sufficient current within an acceptable range of possibilities. This circuit goes beyond conventional sources (which rarely exceed 24V output) giving a maximum of 57V with a current of 1.5A.

The 220V mains transformer previously entered through power switch with lamp incorporated. The purpose is to indicate and ensure that the mains electrical connected to the transformer. The output transformer has a voltage of 40V which after being rectified and filtered rises to approx 57V. The 100nF capacitor improves the performance compared with curly signal. The LM317 integrated in its version of high voltage circuit regulates the output voltage via resistor divider formed by the resistance of 220 ohms and the adjustment potensiometer (which must be multiturn). The 10μF capacitor in the regulatory pathway regulation prevents fluctuations while 1N5404 diodes prevent the discharge of this capacitor damage the integrated circuit. The two output capacitors are responsible for properly filtering the output voltage.

Note: Mount the regulator LM317 on a heatsink to prevent overheating and damage to the IC.
