This adjustable power supply circuit provides an output voltage source which can be adjusted between 1.5 and 15 volts and give 15 amps current.
As is shown in the wiring diagram the 15 A adjustable power supply provides similar amount of current through the parallel work of four power transistors, which must be mounted on a good heatsink. The voltage adjustment is performed in integrated LM317, which also must be dissipated mechanically.
The transformer must have a primary according to the grid, while the secondary should provide 16 volts and 15 amps. Electrolytic capacitors should be mounted parallel to join together. The bridge rectifier should be at least 50 volts and 20 amps. It is recommend using a metal and mounted on the heatsink.
Output voltage is adjusted through a a linear potentiometer. The resistors connected to the emitters of the transistors must be at least 10 watts.
